The new prelims daily test portal is very good, thanks!
Requesting to continue with detailed answer explanations like earlier. New format/portal doesn't explain answers in depth. It just provides bare minimum details regarding the right answer.
Thanks

As per Food and Agriculture Organization, Agriculture is believed to account for roughly two-thirds of the total man-made CH4 mainly from paddy rice fields, burning of biomass and ruminants (enteric fermentation and animal waste treatment). However, no data exist on the effects of organic agriculture on methane emissions. The emission of methane by ruminants is probably not affected by organic production. The higher proportion and lower productivity of ruminants in organic agriculture may, however, lead to slightly higher emissions of CH4. But it any way the conventional farming technique emits more methane. Organic agriculture offers a major potential to reduce the emissions of agricultural greenhouse gases.
Thank You.
