Good Governance Week (Sushasan Saptah)

  • Launch – It is celebrated annually since 2021 as a part of Amrit Mahotsav.
  • Good Governance Day – On December 25, the birthdate of former Prime Minister of India, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vajpayee.

Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore

  • It is a nationwide campaign for Redressal of Public Grievances.
  • Aim – To bring effective Governance closer to rural people.
  • Nodal department – Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.
  • It is being held in 660 districts across India during Good Governance Week

Grey Zone Warfare

  • It describes a set of activities that occur between peace (or cooperation) and war (or armed conflict).
  • Activities – It may include nefarious economic activities, influence operations, and cyberattacks to mercenary operations, assassinations, and disinformation campaigns.
  • Aim – To thwart, destabilize, weaken, or attack an adversary, and they are often tailored toward the vulnerabilities of the target state.

Hybrid Warfare

  • It entails an interplay or fusion of conventional as well as unconventional instruments of power and tools of subversion.
  • The objective of conflating kinetic tools and non-kinetic tactics is to inflict damage on a belligerent state in an optimal manner.
  • The line between war and peace time is rendered obscure and it relates to ambiguity and attribution.

Health

National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD)

  • It is a part of part of National Health Mission (NHM).
  • Aim – To provide technical and financial support to the States and Union Territories for treatment, management, health promotion and awareness generation for prevention, of NCDs.
  • Focus – Strengthening infrastructure, human resource development, early diagnosis, referral to an appropriate level of healthcare facility.

Annual Health Index

  • The Annual Health Index is a yearly report that tracks and ranks the health performance of states and Union Territories (UTs) in India.
  • Launched by – National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) in 2017 in collaboration with
    • Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW)
    • World Bank.
  • The index assesses states and Union Territories on 2 parameters - Overall performance and incremental performance.
  • The index also ranks states and UTs in 3 categories - Larger states, Smaller states, and Union territories (UTs).

Neonatal and under-5 mortality rates

  • Neonatal mortality rate – It is the number of deaths that occur in the first 28 days of a child's life.
  • Under-5 mortality rate – It is the number of deaths that occur before a child reaches the age of 5.
  • Both neonatal and under-5 mortality rates in India have been steadily declining due to improved healthcare initiatives.
  • The neonatal mortality rate in India is around 22 per 1000 live births, while the under-5 mortality rate is approximately 35 per 1000 live births.

  • An addictive, amphetamine-type synthetic drug widely distributed in the middle-east, often marked with 2 crescent moons.
  • 80% of the global supply comes from Syria and banned in most of the countries.
