Indo-Pacific region - OCEAN OF RESOURCES
NEED FOR RESOURCES :-
*The ever growing demand for energy with limited availability of energy resources have resulted in Global attention in this region.
GEO STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE :-
*with bases in Japan, South Korea, Australia and Singapore USA had huge interest in this region for both resources and to maintain BALANCE OF POWER , to counter Chinese aggression in this area.
*For china's dream of becoming a super power this place is crucial one for its supremacy over the neighboring countries (INDIA )as 40% of our GDP comes from trade, of which 90% moves across the Indo-Pacific sea routes.
INDIA'S STAND :-
Recent agreemen (LEMOA) and major defense partner initiative with U.S.A is positive initiative regarding our security concerns.
scorpion class sub- marines can be used to surveillance in this region with help of specialized satellites to counter the chines breakage of law UNCLOS (artificial island building activity ) by collecting evidence against china.
BY our SOFT power foreign policy with mutual cultural aspects with small island nations we should win their support providing necessary support ( SEYCHELLES - ASSUMPTION ISALND).
Getting in P-5 in UN-security council by getting support African nations by string their intellect by the sufferings of economic exploitation of super-powers during colonial period BUT at that same time we should gain the support of western countries to counter the common threat TERRORISM and ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION.
